The age of adolescence is problematic even in case of normal psychosexual development. What can librarians do to help non-heterosexual teenagers and young adults to overcome this period of life? They can offer the proper information, communities and websites to avoid self-harm, negative self-conception, ideas or attempts of suicide. Sometimes LGBT adolescents have to cope with loss of friends, parents or home, the benevolence of their teachers. Researhers claim that teenagers ask for help from librarians and libraries before they turn to their parents, friends or teachers. Libraries and librarians role is essential in preventing suicide and maintaining a positive self-image in sometimes homophobic environment.
