Our school is a secondary grammar school with 820 students and two librarian teachers. This year we organised two programs that are related to reading.
We teamed up with the art teachers and we announced a drawing competition about reading. 47 painting and drawings we submitted. The best artists received art tools and literature CD-s. We held an exhibition from the paintings and the nearby public library will take it over in November.
The other activity was a book losing game. Books have been placed in many corners of the school, which the students could read and lose again. Some students offered their own books for the game. At the moment 20 books are being read somewhere in the building.

Find out which are my favourite books – this is the title of one of the tasks that can be found on the class competition sheet. In the game ten titles have to be matched with the images of ten people. In the other tasks competitors have to write book reviews with the help of questions or solve multiple choice tests about books.

Our little readers appeared in the News in the program titled "Hetedhét Gyerekhíradó" on the occasion of the World Day of School Libraries . Viewers could gain insight into the life of our library in two minutes.

We had painted a king and queen figures and a sentence "Reading Makes You a King" on a fiberboard table with the little ones visiting the library. We cut holes into it in order to give the possibility for our little readers to take their faces into the picture, and another hole to take their favorite book, and to take photos of it.
